MEET2TALK 2026 – CONVERSATIONS THAT INSPIRE AND CONNECT

From 20 to 24 August, Požega will host Meet2Talk as part of this year’s Interaction programme. Bringing together filmmakers, producers, distributors and festival programmers from across the region and around the world, Meet2Talk creates space for exchanging experiences, professional networking and developing future collaborations and co-productions through Talks, a panel discussion, Speed Meetings and informal gatherings.

As part of the Talks programme, Austrian director Jola Wieczorek will discuss the making of O que resta, which premiered at the 68th Locarno Film Festival. She will reflect on directing under highly specific circumstances and on building the film through observation, memory and the passage of time. Swiss director Corina Schwingruber Ilić will explore the process of finding protagonists, building trust, preserving authenticity and remaining responsible towards the people whose stories she tells. Wouter Jansen, distributor and director of the distribution company Square Eyes, based in the Netherlands and Austria, will present the key decisions involved in shaping a film’s identity, festival strategy and distribution path.

The Talks programme is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Belgrade and MEDIA Desk Serbia.

The programme will also feature a panel on international co-productions, with a particular focus on regional partnerships and opportunities to connect with partners from the wider international film community. The discussion will address film development, financing and distribution, finding the right partners and preserving the filmmaker’s creative vision throughout the collaborative process. The panel will bring together Iris Elezi, director, producer and curator from Albania, Ilija Tiricovski, producer from North Macedonia and Nevena Milašinović, Sales and Acquisitions Executive at Lightdox from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion will be moderated by Ikonija Jeftić, researcher and Meet2Talk producer from Serbia.

The panel is organised as part of the Interaction: DocuConnect Balkans project, co-funded by the Western Balkans Fund and the European Union through the WBF–EU Joint Action.

The Talks and panel discussion are open to the public, and admission is free.

Meet2Talk will conclude with Speed Meetings, giving participants an opportunity to present their projects, exchange ideas and connect with potential collaborators and partners through a series of short one-to-one conversations.
