Interaction: Teen Doc Workshop – a member of EDU CUTS network
Empowering Young Talents in the Western Balkans
The Interaction: Teen Doc Workshop is just around the corner, taking place from August 20 to 27, 2024, in Užice in Western Serbia. Organized by IFC Filmart, this exciting seven-day educational program aims to inspire and equip motivated high school students with the skills and knowledge needed for creative documentary filmmaking.
The IFC Filmart team is thrilled to welcome 24 participants from eight countries: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Albania, and Serbia. This unique workshop provides an opportunity for teens aged 14-19 to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, learn from esteemed mentors, and explore new forms of creative expression through documentary film. The workshop will feature renowned documentary filmmakers from the Western Balkans region – Vladimir Perović (Serbia, Montenegro), and Hanis Bagashov (North Macedonia) as lecturers and mentors will offer invaluable insights and guidance into documentary filmmaking to our participants. Attendees will engage in hands-on activities, collaborate in production of four short documentaries, and participate in discussions that foster critical thinking and intercultural dialogue. In addition, all participants of the Teen Doc workshop will take part in the Youth Jury of the Interaction festival that is happening along with the workshop. After watching the 15 internationally distinguished short documentaries of the Interaction Festival competition programme, attendees of the Teen Doc workshop will have the opportunity to choose a film to be awarded the Youth Jury Award for the best film.
