Open Call for the Teen Doc Workshop
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 10 APRIL 2023
The Independent Film Center Filmart from Požega is announcing an open call for participation in the Interaction Teen Doc Workshop.
The workshop is designed for high school students, from any of the five countries of the Western Balkan: North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia. The application deadline is the 10th of April, 2023.
The jury will select up to 12-15 participants, and the results will be announced by the end of April.
This event is supported by The Western Balkans Fund.
The workshop takes place from 16-23 August 2023, and the attendance is free of charge.
During the Teen Doc workshop, teens from the Western Balkans region will have a rare opportunity to meet their peers, share experiences, knowledge and skills, as well as to gather knowledge in the field of creative documentary film directing through training sessions held by our associates, experienced documentary filmmakers and educators.
The workshop will be held in BHS language (Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian) and includes 5 online meetings and a workshop in-person in August. The participants, divided into smaller teams will aim to shoot three-minute creative documentaries in the city of Čačak.
As part of Interaction, the Filmart team will organize the Short Docs Festival for the second year in a row. A youth jury award will be given for the best film within the competition programme in addition to the main award for the best film and the audience award. The youth jury is made up of participants in the Teen Doc Workshop.
Interaction Teen Doc Workshop 2023 – Towards a Better Region has been funded by the Western Balkans Fund and European Union, under the Call for Regional Project Proposals, “Support to the Promotion of Civil Society regional activities in the Western Balkans and realized by the Independent Film Centre Filmart with following partners – Underhill Fest Podgorica (Montenegro), Prvi Kadar East Sarajevo film festival (BiH), Winter Apricots film festival Prilep (North Macedonia), Kinoklub Karlovac (Croatia), Klara and Rosa Subotica and SEEcult.org Belgrade (Serbia).
