DOC WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS ANNOUNCED

As part of this year’s Interaction, the Doc Workshop will take place from 18 to 24 August. Twenty-five participants will attend lectures on creative documentary filmmaking, while the authors of five selected projects will work on their further development.

Once again, Rada Šešić will share her extensive experience with the participants. A filmmaker, lecturer and curator, she has spent 30 years advising film projects and selecting documentary programmes for numerous festivals, including the Sarajevo Film Festival. Lectures will also be given by Corina Schwingruber Ilić, an award-winning director and editor whose films have been screened at major international festivals, including Venice, Sundance, Locarno and DOK Leipzig.

Šešić will guide participants through the development of a documentary project – from the initial idea and financing to festival strategy and international presentation. Drawing on examples from her own work, Schwingruber Ilić will discuss how a documentary subject can be shaped through a distinctive artistic vision and creative visual storytelling.

As part of the Doc in Progress programme, the authors of five selected projects will develop their work through individual consultations with tutors. Alongside Rada Šešić and Corina Schwingruber Ilić, Iva Plemić Divjak, Wouter Jansen and Luka Papić will help them define their artistic approach, narrative structure and visual concept, as well as other creative and production aspects of their projects, according to each project’s stage and specific needs.

The Doc Workshop takes place alongside Interaction’s other programmes – Short Docs Festival, Student Film Camp, Teen Doc Workshop, DocuConnect Balkans and Meet2Talk.

From 2011 onwards, this programme has welcomed 229 participants from 63 countries, learning from distinguished lecturers and tutors such as leading directors – Sky Fitzgerald, Rada Šešić, Wouter Jansen, Iva Plemić Divjak, Corina Schwingruber Ilić, Vladimir Perović, Želimir Žilnik, Chris Filippone, Jamie Meltzer, Inka Achté, Nebojša Slijepčević, Maja Novaković, Dragan Elčić, Marko Grba Singh and Mladen Matičević.
