With a strong foundation in documentary filmmaking from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Soňa Nôtová has cultivated a global perspective through her studies in Bulgaria, Norway, and Indonesia. Her filmmaking has consistently engaged with topics of refugees, feminism, and otherness, earning selections at festivals such as FIDE Paris, Zlín Film Fest, Echoes of Katyn, or the Bucharest Feminist Film Festival. 

Currently residing in Sweden, Soňa is focused on developing a film based in the Balkans, in collaboration with her producer Richard Chudý, and seeks to further evolve the project through this workshop.
