PABLO BIEDMA, SPAIN
Every time Pablo watches a movie, it feels as if time stops. For him, cinema is not about pretending to be smart or following trends, but about those moments of pure immersion: laughing with Jack Lemmon in “Some Like It Hot”, feeling the tension of James Stewart spying on his neighbors in “Rear Window”, or wanting to travel to Rome after watching Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck stroll its streets in “Roman Holiday”. As he likes to recall through Billy Wilder’s words, a film has succeeded if it makes you forget, even for a second, that you didn’t park the car properly or argued with your boss.
Pablo turned this love into a vocation as editor-in-chief of Cinema Coloris, one of Spain’s leading online film magazines, where he has written essays, covered festivals around the globe from Cannes to Hong Kong. He interviewed figures like Neil Jordan, Makoto Shinkai, and Kiera Chaplin. Along the way, he also directed short films that have been presented at festivals such as Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival in Venice, as he continues to develop new projects that weave personal storytelling with his enduring fascination for cinema’s timeless language.
Graduating from Tsinghua University, he combines his background in computer science with a filmmaker’s eye, building projects that bridge cinema and technology. His recent work involves exploring how style parallels can be drawn between film frames and historical paintings, thereby enhancing recognition of artistic similarities across different domains and opening up new creative possibilities.
