Kate Kotcheff is a photographer and documentary filmmaker based in the UK. Having graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Photography from Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design in 2012, and an MA in Ethnographic Documentary Film from UCL in 2020, she has exhibited widely in group shows in London and Europe. 

As well as having written and directed fiction and documentary short films, Kotcheff has had extensive experience as a freelance producer and agent in film and TV. Recently she was the UK co-producer on “Music is my Life,” a feature documentary about the life of Joseph Shabalala and his acapella singing group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which represented South Africa at the Academy Awards 2024. The film recently won Best Documentary Direction at the SAFTAs 2024.
