Daniel Morawitz, Austria
Daniel, born and raised in Vienna with a Brazilian mother, started making YouTube videos at 14. He grew up in front of the TV and cinemas, obsessed with movies. In 2017, he began studying Film, Media, and Theater at the University of Vienna, completing his Bachelor’s in 2021. In 2022, he applied for Editing at the Filmakademie Wien. In 2020, he was the Austrian Ambassador at the Giornate degli Autori through the 27 Times Cinema Program.
In the summer of 2021, he participated in the international workshop of “Schweizer Jugendfilmtage” in Zurich. In 2022, he created the film collective “Kino und Krawall,” which hosts monthly screenings and Q&A sessions. He has worked at numerous film festivals, including Viennale, VIS, Youki, and Slash. In 2024, he was selected for Screenwriting at the Filmakademie Wien.
