BENJAMIN GARAY WIETIG, ARGENTINA

Benjamin Garay Wietig is a documentary film director and cinematographer born in 1991 in Patagonia, Argentina. He graduated as an Audiovisual Designer from Buenos Aires University. 

As a cinematographer, he has worked on Jasy Porã (2014), a multi-awarded short film about the Mbya Guaraní community (CILECT Prize – Best Documentary). As a director and cinematographer he has shot Among the mountain ranges (2019), a documentary feature that follows the Andes Mountains’ resisting farmers during the four seasons of the year (BAFICI, Trieste’s Latin American Film Festival, Dhaka IFF).

In 2018, he participated as a cinematographer in Interaction Film Camp in Serbia, where he shot 80 Serbian dinars, a documentary by Spanish director Inma de Reyes, screened for the first time in Beldocs. 

He is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he works as a photographer for his own studio; while developing his next short film, Arne, a portrait of a Norwegian writer and cyclist.
