Azad is a director, writer, and producer based in Mumbai. His co-direction and writing venture The Ghazi Attack, a mainstream commercial movie, stands as India’s first naval war film, depicting the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.

Beyond commercial cinema, Azad’s independent voice explores the deeper layers of relationships, love, and loss. His two independent shorts, Together and With You For You Always, both portray urban conflicts with strong female characters in the lead and have been selected at various international film festivals.Currently, Azad is working on an animated short Rubble, a post-war fantasy from the perspective of a child and a feature-length documentary Fading Trails, capturing a nomadic tribal community from North India.
