Interaction Festival 2025 Opened

Celebrating 20 Years of Interaction Camp

On August 19, 2025, at the Movie Theater of Cultural CenterPožega, the fourth edition of the Interaction: Short Documentary Festival was officially opened. This year’s opening was dedicated to celebrating the 20th anniversary of Interaction Camp and to honoring the community that Interaction has built over the past two decades.

At the opening ceremony, speeches were given by Dejan Petrović – Artistic Director of Interaction, Slađana PetrovićVaragić – Executive Director, and Predrag Živković – Producer of Interaction Camp. Among other things, the organizers emphasized:

“… The focus of Interaction is on short creative documentary films – films that do not settle for superficiality, but instead open questions, re-examine social relations, and encourage critical thinking. That is why we gather around Interaction year after year – a network woven over the past two decades across all meridians, connecting different nations, religions, and vulnerable groups, without borders or limitations. For us as organizers, Interaction was at first a challenge, but over time it became our mission and responsibility. That is why we persevered, grew, and developed…”

Festival Producer Nađa Lačević introduced the audience to this year’s programme of the festival. The female singing group The Singing Women of Požega, who were the protagonists of the film Merry-Go-Round created during Interaction, officially opened the festival with their performance.

The opening was followed by the programme In Focus – 20 Years of Interaction Camp, showcasing some of the most acclaimed films produced at the camp in previous years:

• Valley of the Rulers (Efim Graboy, 2017)
• Adornment of the World (Stefan Krasić, 2017)
