Youth from Serbia and Interaction Teen Doc at the 12th Giffoni Macedonia


The 12th edition Giffoni Macedonia will be held in Skopje from October 3 to October 8, 2024 – a unique film festival for youth, which is part of the “Giffoni family” with the prestigious Giffoni Italia known worldwide for its authentic concept and programme dedicated to young and children.

The cooperation between IFC Filmart and Giffoni Macedonia continues this year through the EDU CUTS project supported by the British Council through the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project. CC4WBs is a project funded by the European Union and aims to encourage dialogue in the Western Balkans by strengthening the cultural and creative sectors for greater socio-economic impact. The EDU CUTS network is an innovative initiative designed to support and nurture the future generation of creative people in the Western Balkans through mobility support, film workshops, co-production support, networking opportunities and stimulating young author’s films distribution in the Western Balkans. The partners of EDU CUTS are Media Literacy Association Planet-M Skopje, Association of Young Artists Sarajevo, Podgorica Film Festival, PriFilmFest and IFC Filmart from Serbia.

Also, the participation of three teenagers from Serbia at this year’s Giffoni Macedonia was supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia, through youth mobility support programmes, within the project Interaction Teen Doc 2024 – Youth mobility through film.


This year’s representatives of Serbia in the youth jury of the Giffoni Macedonia festival are: Isidora Lazić and Danijela Dmitrić from Gornji Milanovac – high school students of the “Takovski Ustanak” Grammar School Gornji Milanovac and Nikola Šipetić from Čačak (Teen Doc Interaction 2024 participant) high school student – Prehrambeno-ugostiteljska škola Čačak.

Also, as part of the 12th edition of Giffoni Macedonia, in the EDU CUTS Talks programme, there will be a regional premiere of four short documentaries that were shot this year in Uzice during the Interaction Teen Doc Workshop. The screening will be held at the Youth Cultural Center in Skopje (MKC) on Sunday, October 6 at 3:45 p.m., followed by a discussion. There will be screened: Time for Breakfast, Snooze, I Was There and Gru the Different Tree, produced and created by Teen Doc Workshop 2024 participants mentored by Vladimir Perović and Hanis Bagashov.

Participants of Interaction Teen Doc 2024 were Mia Aleksić, Dunja Aksentijević, Dunja Božović, Jovan Cosic, Zara Chater, Sofija Djokovic, Tomica Đurđević, Srna Georgievska, Migena Gjyla, Renato Giuseppe Moscati, Corina Kovačić, Danica Lazović, Simona Mikić, Mihailo Mitić, Omer Nicević, Matea Novaković, Nikoleta Radojićić, Vittorio di Rubbo, Ada Stefa, Damjan Stojanovski, Nikola Šipetić, Mila Wilson. The producer of the Teen Doc Interaction 2024 workshop was Mina Adamović, and the peer educators were Srđa Čvorović and Matija Štifanić.

The project of the Independent Film Center Filmart “Interaction Teen Doc 2024 – Mobility of youth through film”, which enabled the mobility of youth from Serbia at the Giffoni Italia and Giffoni Macedonia festivals, is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia.
