YASEMIN HICKL, AUSTRIA

Yasemin Habibe Hickl is an Austrian filmmaker, producer, and director based in Vienna. After completing her training at the LIK Academy of Digital Film, she founded Spinning Gear Films and has written, directed, and produced several short films and documentaries.
Her work focuses on social issues, identity, inclusion, and human relationships, often highlighting underrepresented voices and intercultural perspectives. Her films include 1734 – The Encounter, Dance Connects Us, The Fragments of Our Love, Who by Logic, and the documentary Känäk mit Integrationshintergrund.
In addition to her filmmaking work, she serves as a board member of dieRegisseur:innen and is a member of the Austrian Directors Association (ADA). She lives in Vienna with her family.
