Nawas Ali is a Physics graduate and currently pursuing his last year of film editing at the Film and Television Institute of India. He was born in Kozhikode, Kerala in 1994. As a child, he developed a passion for films and began making his films at the age of 12. He was given a Sony Cybershot digital camera in 2006. He made his family, friends, and himself the performers in the films he made.

His passion for filmmaking has led him to independently produce a range of short films, documentary films, and experimental films that have gained recognition in various film festivals. He was part of a student exchange program conducted at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (FABW)in Germany on Documentary filmmaking.
