Luisa Nawka was born as part of the sorbian minority in Germany. Keen to sound exploration and music she was trained in classical piano as a  child and continued with playing jazz as teenager. Her interest in documentary and fiction film formats rose simultaneously. The firsttries included documenting an NGO in Chincha, Peru and the short documentary Smy, in which she asked Sorbians in East Germany about their feeling of identity. Since 2019 she studies the bachelor of sound at the Film University in Babelsberg, creating short films in the position of a sound designer, film music composer and boom operator. Additionally she takes part in film projects outside university, is part of an all female sorbian hip hop crew „kolektiw klanki“ and makes electronic music under the pseudonym Knytl.
