Loreto Plubins studied editing at the Escuela de Cine de Chile. She later pursued a Bachelor’s in Documentary Film and a Master’s in Digital Narratives.

For over 15 years, she worked as an editor on series and films with established filmmakers, including Fernando Trueba and Nicolás Acuña. She began directing with the documentary series WIMBY, which aired on TVN in 2012.

Her personal style grew in parallel to mainstream projects, along with a desire to leave Chile for a better life. In 2018, she moved to Germany, where her digital studies opened her artistic practice to the transmedia realm. Her particular narrative, based on a “fragmented montage,” was awarded by the Wim Wenders Foundation in 2020.

In February 2026, she finished her first feature documentary called Objeto.
