MEET THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE 2026 INTERACTION CAMP
This year, the Interaction: Student Film Camp will bring together five emerging filmmakers from the Czech Republic, India, the United States/Slovenia, Switzerland/Japan, and Serbia.
Since late June, the participants have been conducting online research and developing their short documentary project. They will arrive in Čačak on 8 August, where they will complete the research process through direct engagement with the local community before shooting the film by 15 August. The Camp will then continue in Požega, where the participants will edit the documentary and complete post-production by 24 August.
Throughout every stage of the creative process, they are guided by mentor Isaac Knights-Washbourn, an award-winning director and former Interaction participant.
During their stay in Požega, the participants will also have an opportunity to attend screenings and events at the Interaction Festival and, through the Meet2Talk programme, meet and exchange experiences with guests and participants from other Interaction programmes.
Since its launch in 2006, the Camp has welcomed more than 300 participants, and 65 short documentary films have been produced through the programme, which have received over 20 awards at film festivals worldwide. One of its greatest achievements was Valley of the Rulers, directed by Efim Graboy, which was nominated for Best Short Documentary at the prestigious International Documentary Association’s 2019 IDA Documentary Awards.
Meet this year’s Camp participants.
