SONJA NOTOVA, SLOVAKIA

Documentary director Soňa Nôtová graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She further enriched her education with studies in Bulgaria, Indonesia, and Norway.
Soňa’s work centers on sensitive topics, including the refugee crisis and feminist perspectives, with her films having been presented at festivals such as Febiofest Bratislava, FIDE Paris, Zlín Film Fest, and Echoes of Katyn in Poland, among others. Currently, she is working on a documentary series in development, World Divided, with which she won the Golden Funnel award at East Doc Platform. Alongside, she’s preparing her debut film, Dying to Live, and is researching another film in development.
She is a graduate of the Ex Oriente Series and DOX IN VITRO workshops.
