Sojung An is a producer working across documentary and performative forms. She previously worked as a development producer on Our Complex, which was selected for the 2025 IDFA Delegation Pitch and received first place at the 2025 EIDF Young Pitch. She is currently producing The Black Box, a documentary that explores reenactment and theatrical performance.

Trained in playwriting at Korea National University of Arts, she has long been interested in how narrative structures shape our understanding of power, violence, and memory. Her background in theatre led her to documentary filmmaking, where she became drawn to nonfiction’s ability to resist tidy resolutions and engage with social complexity.

She has also published critical essays in the 2024 and 2025 editions of the film criticism magazine by The Association of Korean Independent Film & Video (KIFV).
