Lucas Weglinski is a screenwriter, editor, director, and producer. He organizes the Prisma Queer Award at the São Paulo International Film Festival.
In 2023, he released his debut feature documentary Desire Machine, which went on to receive 12 awards at more than 20 festivals. In July of the same year, the film was released theatrically in Brazil, where it remained in cinemas for five months. It was widely acclaimed by national critics, receiving extensive press coverage, including full-page features and praise from media outlets across the country.
In 2024, he released his second documentary Nature Music, which received 15 awards worldwide. The film had its theatrical release in Brazil in July 2024, where it remained in cinemas for three months.
Both documentaries are available through FilmFriend libraries across Europe, Pragda in the United States and Canada, and GuideDoc.TV worldwide.
In 2025, he was invited as a Guest Filmmaker at Harvard and Sorbonne Universities.
