Soňa Nôtová graduated from the Department of Documentary filmmaking at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Besides that, she studied Theatre and Film in Sofia, Bulgaria, Documentary Photography at Volda University College in Norway, and Theatre and Film in Jakarta, Indonesia. So far Soňa’s main aim was in the topics of refugees, feminism and otherness in any sense. Her films were part of international film festivals such as FIDE Paris, Echoes of Katyn, Linz International Short Film Festival, Bucharest Feminist Film Festival, Zlín Film Fest, and many more. Currently she lives in Prague and works on her debut film and some smaller projects with her producer Richard Chudý.
