After graduating in Computer Science Engineering, Samonjoy worked in software for 3 years, feeling discontent and longing for change. Discovering FTII’s Film Sound Design course in Pune, he pursued it despite conservative family views. Clearing the entrance in 2019, Samonjoy delved into global cinema, learning from masters like Godard and Kiarostami. COVID closures from 2020 to 2022 prompted him to explore music composition. Back at FTII in 2022, he excelled as a sound designer and composer for short films, finding documentary work particularly impactful for its authentic human stories and collaborative dynamics.
